Benevilla
About Us

Benevilla was formed as a not-for-profit organization in 1981 by citizens of the Sun Cities area out of concern that many of the community's residents could not obtain important services locally. This lack of services and support could potentially cause premature institutionalization or rapid decline in physical and mental well-being. The west valley has reached the growth level where services are greatly needed, especially by early residents and multi-generational families. The vast majority of clients served are females, predominantly widowed. The largest age group we serve is 75-84, with the next largest group as 85-100 years old. Benevilla employs 100 individuals and provides additional community assistance through our 400 volunteers who are involved in all aspects of service delivery, public awareness, fund raising and organizational development. Our services include five adult day care centers, caregiver support, emergency response systems, support groups, information and referral, and various other senior services.

Through a network of five West Valley adult day centers, various support and educational services, a comprehensive care-management program, volunteer services program and social activities, Benevilla provides a continuum of care that promotes independence and instills a sense of dignity and self-empowerment, regardless of the ability to pay.

Not only do these well-established services offer assistance to clients themselves, but many programs address the ongoing and changing needs of loved ones providing care to their aging family members.

Additionally, Benevilla has its eye on future needs for older adults and the younger generation as well. With more families with children moving to the West Valley, Benevilla has established an intergenerational day care facility, Wirtzie's Child Development Center, where children -- from newborns to 5-year-olds -- have the unique opportunity to share space and experiences with older adults.

Benevilla is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services and maintains service contracts with the Area Agency on Aging, Veterans Administration, the Division of Developmental Disabilities, and others. We are an organization committed to quality, compassionate care.
