Benevilla welcomed a group of Russian businesswomen from the Open World Leadership Center. The group toured the Benevilla campus and learned about Benevilla’s nonprofit programs and services.
Open World Leadership Center, an independent government agency of the United States Congress, provides an exchange and partnership program designed to enhance understanding and cooperation between Eurasian and American leaders. The program builds the groundwork by bringing emerging Eurasian government and civic leaders to the United States to work with their American counterparts during 10-day professional visits and facilitates continued relations through an alumni network.
Executives from Benevilla met with Dr. Andrea Shields, Open World Delegate, and six Russian businesswomen working in diverse nonprofit fields. The women were anxious to learn how an American nonprofit fit into the community.
“The delegates were very excited to learn about how Benevilla provides care for such a wide age range in the community and how they could take our model and translate it into their own businesses,” said Jennifer Lawless, Benevilla Senior Director of Marketing. “They were impressed that a small nonprofit could do so much for so many.”
