Benevilla is excited to announce their 1st “Caregiver Connect” event of 2018 to be held in the Southwest Valley is filling up fast. This educational event provides family caregivers with support and guidance to assist them on their caregiving journey. The Benevilla Caregiver Connect event will be held Wednesday, March 14th from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Conference Center at Estrella Mountain Community College.

There will be 3 exciting and informative presentations during the event. The keynote speaker is Dr. Walter Nieri from Banner Boswell Medical Center. Expert speakers include Lori Nisson, MSW, LCSW from the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute and Dana Kennedy, the State Director of AARP.

Family caregivers have the opportunity to get their pressing questions answered and collect free resources from many of our community senior care providers. A Benevilla C.A.R.E.S. Resource Specialist will also be on-site for anyone needing one-on-one support. At the last event for caregivers, over 45 local senior services providers were on hand to supply critical caregiver information to the attendees. They also offer expert advice and direction on a myriad of topics including senior living options, home care choices, insurance alternatives, elder law and help with government programs.

Benevilla has been helping family caregivers since 1981 when they started their very first crisis counseling service. “The Benevilla founders were aware that family caregivers were bearing a heavy burden when caring for their ill or incapacitated loved ones while trying to keep themselves healthy” says Benevilla President and CEO, Joanne Thomson. “Today, 30-60% of caregivers pass away from illnesses related to caregiver stress before the person they are caring for. That’s why getting family caregivers support and information is crucial for our aging communities and their families.”
Reservations are required. Please call 623-584-4999 to reserve your space today. There will be a complimentary breakfast hosted by Birt’s Bistro.
