Benevilla has announced that its Senior Director of Food and Beverage, Jeff Amperse, was a guest speaker at the EideBailly conference “Non-Profit Revenue Generation: Lessons Learned from Resourcefullness.” The conference was held on January 13 at the Phoenix Country Club.
The conference featured two guest speakers in addition to Chef Amperse: Tanya Perry of Goodwill of Central Arizona and Katherine Cecala of Valley of the Sun United Way.
Chef Amperse was invited to speak to his expertise and experiences with Birt’s Bistro and Bookstore, which received Honorable Mention at the 2014 EideBailly Resourcefullness Awards. Birt’s Bistro is a social enterprise based upon a sustainable organizational model that applies commercial strategies to provide improvements in community life and human welfare.
Birt’s profits directly support the programs provided by the health and human services nonprofit organization, Benevilla. Many of Benevilla’s programs, including Life Enrichment Programs for elders and for adults with intellectual disabilities, grocery shopping for homebound elders, transportation, and more, are offered at low or no charge to those in need.
Intended for C-level executives, the conference covered lessons learned from revenue generation trends in the industry, identifying nonprofit revenue generation trends, finding new or additional purposes for existing resources, and bringing new initiatives from idea to implementation.
